Compare · Jump vs WriteUpp
Practice admin, or a clinical record.
WriteUpp is honest, well-priced practice software for therapists and allied health - and this page won't pretend otherwise. The comparison for a private GP practice is about the layer WriteUpp doesn't claim: coded notes, checked prescriptions, structured results, registers. That's the layer this page compares.
Three days of dysuria and frequency. No fever, no flank pain. No visible haematuria. Second episode this year.
Apyrexial. Abdomen soft, mild suprapubic tenderness. No renal angle tenderness.
The short version
WriteUpp does the admin of a small practice well, at a price a solo practitioner can justify - booking, notes, video, forms, invoicing, even insurer e-billing. What its public materials don't claim is a GP-grade clinical layer: coded records, prescribing checks, lab results, registers, NHS GP sending. If you're a therapist, WriteUpp may be all you need. If you're a private GP practice, the clinical layer is the job - and that's what Jump is.
Side by side
Like for like, category by category.
WriteUpp documents a solid admin stack, and the table grants every capability we found in their public materials - including a row that goes their way. The notes carry how Jump does each thing for a GP practice.
Jump's column describes our product as it ships. WriteUpp's reflects their public materials as of July 2026; "Not documented" means we could not find an equivalent there, not a claim it doesn't exist. Products change; if this table is out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
An honest fork
Which one fits your practice?
Switching
An honest word on moving from WriteUpp.
Our one-click structured import is currently Semble-only, and we'd rather say that plainly than promise a migration wizard that doesn't exist. WriteUpp transitions are scoped case-by-case with our team.
Your data, reviewed together
We look at what WriteUpp exports and agree what must arrive as structured records versus documents - before anything moves.
Practise before go-live
Your team works a sandbox with sample patients first, so day one in Jump isn't the first time anyone has used it.
Coded from the first patient
Every consultation, prescription and result from your first day in Jump is SNOMED-coded data - registers and prescribing checks work immediately.
Common questions
Questions, answered.
The questions practices weighing WriteUpp against Jump ask most. If yours isn't here, ask us on a demo call.

We'll walk the comparison for your practice on a 30-minute call - the coded record, the prescribing checks, and an honest read on whether you need them.
