Practice management software

Practice management software handles the operational side of running a clinic: appointment scheduling, patient records at an administrative level, billing and invoicing, and communications.

The important distinction from an electronic health record is depth of clinical capability. Practice management software can run a diary and take payments well without holding a genuine structured clinical record, which is why many practices end up running practice management and clinical systems side by side.
