Setting up prescribing alerts for allergy sensitivities in Jump

Jump now surfaces allergy and sensitivity warnings at the point of dispensing, plus dosages alongside pack sizes for acute and repeat prescriptions.

What the new dispensing alerts do

Jump has added dispensing alerts to make medication supply safer and clearer. When a medication is being dispensed, Jump can now surface relevant warnings at the point of supply, so the person dispensing can review anything that needs attention before completing the process.

For example, if a patient has a penicillin allergy on their record and you search for a drug that would not be appropriate given that allergy, you'll see a sensitivity warning. You can click on it for more detail. Should you wish to proceed, you have to acknowledge the warning, and you can then override it.

Dosages added alongside pack sizes

Medication supply in Jump now adds dosages directly within the product. This sits alongside the pack sizes that were already available, within the acute and repeat dispensing flow.

Why this matters for dispensing safety

These safety checks are kept inside the normal dispensing workflow, rather than relying on someone spotting a risk elsewhere. By putting the warning and the acknowledgement step directly in the path of dispensing, Jump aims to improve the safety of clinical prescribing without adding a separate step to check for.
