Features · Video consultations

Video consultations, built into the appointment - not bolted on.

Turn on Video as a delivery mode on the appointment types you choose, and patients join through a secure, DOB-verified link with no app or download. Every room is locked until the clinician admits them, and the call runs right alongside the consultation note - so nothing about a video visit lives outside the record everything else does.

How it works

From a booked appointment to an admitted call.

Four steps, in the order they happen. You choose which appointment types offer video once; after that, the room, the link and the waiting room look after themselves.

Step 1

Turn on Video as a delivery mode

Delivery is set per appointment type, alongside In-person, Phone and Home visit. Turn on Video for the types that make sense, and patients only see it as a booking option where you have.

Step 2

A locked room is created automatically

As soon as a video appointment is confirmed, Jump creates its own locked video room behind the scenes - nothing for staff to set up per booking. If a booking somehow reaches Jump without one (an imported appointment, say, or a type switched to Video after the fact), a room is created the moment anyone opens it.

Step 3

The patient joins a secure link - and knocks to be let in

Patients get a DOB-verified link by SMS or email, never the raw call address. Opening it checks their identity against the appointment, then opens the call in a new browser tab - no app, no download. Because the room is locked, they knock and wait there until the clinician admits them.

Step 4

Video runs beside the note, not on a separate screen

The call is one channel inside the same consultation-writing pane as the note and Scribe, Jump's note-drafting tool. A clinician admits the patient, starts talking, and can flick to write the note while the call keeps running - a live indicator on the Video tile shows it's still connected.

Connections

Video consultations work because the rest of the record feeds them.

Nothing here is a bolt-on video tool - it's the same appointment type, calendar, consultation and messaging your practice already runs on.

Patients just click the link that comes through with their reminder - nobody's ever had to ask us how to join. It genuinely feels like one appointment, not a booking system bolted to a video app.

Common questions

Questions, answered.

The six questions practices most often ask about offering video consultations through Jump. If yours isn't here, ask us on a demo call.

No. Patients join through a secure link sent by SMS or email, never a raw call address - no app, no download. Opening the link checks it against the appointment before the call opens in the browser.
