How to Send a Document to an NHS GP

Jump integrates with DocMan Connect to send documents directly to a patient's registered GP practice through the NHS GP exchange.

Prerequisites

This feature must be enabled for your organisation. If the Send to NHS GP button is not visible, contact your administrator.

How to Get There

  1. Open a patient's document from the Documents tab
  2. Click Send to NHS GP (building icon) in the document details sidebar

Sending a Document

  1. Patient GP lookup - the system checks the patient's registered GP practice
  2. GP practice search - if needed, search for a GP practice by name or ODS code using the NHS GP Directory
  3. Select the practice from the search results
  4. Document type - choose the document type for routing purposes
  5. Attachment notes - add a brief note (up to 255 characters) to accompany the document
  6. Click Send

A success notification appears and the dialog closes automatically after a few seconds.

What Can Be Sent

The following source types are supported:

  • Documents - patient letters and clinical documents
  • Lab Results - pathology results
  • Consultations - consultation records

Audit

The transfer is recorded in the document's audit trail, including the destination practice and timestamp.

Tip: Ensure the patient's registered GP is up to date in their demographics. The system uses this to pre-fill the destination practice.

Note: Sending documents to NHS GPs requires the Send to NHS GP module to be enabled with a valid ODS code. See the Send to NHS GP article in Integrations & Apps.
