Using the Patient Sidebar

When you open an episode that is linked to a patient, a tabbed sidebar appears on the right side of the Inbox. This gives you quick access to the patient's clinical record without navigating away from the episode.

Available Tabs

The sidebar includes the following tabs (your organisation may have customised the order or visibility):

Tab What It Shows
Patient Information Demographics, contact details, and custom attributes
Clinical Summary Active problems, allergies, and current medications at a glance
Consultation History Previous consultations with the patient
Tasks Open tasks linked to the patient
Medications Current and past medications
Alerts Clinical alerts and warnings
Appointments Upcoming and past appointments
Immunisations Immunisation history
Investigations Lab results and investigation history
Documents Clinical documents linked to the patient

Additional tabs such as Stripe Billing or SharePoint Documents may appear if those integrations are enabled.

Each tab includes a link at the bottom (e.g. "View all consultations" or "View all medications") that takes you directly to that section of the patient's full record.

You can also click the patient's name in the episode conversation to open a detailed patient summary overlay.

How This Helps

The sidebar allows you to triage episodes more efficiently by providing clinical context alongside the conversation. For example, when reviewing a lab result, you can check the patient's current medications and active problems without switching pages.

Tip: The sidebar tabs can be reordered and customised. Click the settings icon in the sidebar to configure which tabs are visible and in what order.
