How to Use Patient Links

Patient links are secure, unique URLs that give patients access to specific actions without needing a full portal login. Each link is tied to a single patient and can be used for a variety of tasks.

You can generate links for:

  • Appointment booking - patient can book or reschedule an appointment
  • Questionnaire completion - patient can fill in an assigned questionnaire or survey
  • Document review - patient can view and sign documents
  • Payment - patient can pay an outstanding invoice
  • Portal access - patient can log in to the full patient portal
  1. Open the patient's record
  2. Navigate to the Patient Links section (or use the actions menu)
  3. Click Create Link
  4. Choose the type of link you want to generate
  5. Copy the link or send it directly to the patient via email or SMS

Patient links are:

  • Unique - each link is a one-time-use or session-based token
  • Patient-specific - the link is tied to a single patient record
  • Tracked - link usage is logged so you can see when a patient accessed it

View all generated links for a patient in the Patient Links section. You can see:

  • Link type and purpose
  • When it was created
  • Whether it has been used
  • Current status

Tip: Patient links are a convenient way to collect information from patients before an appointment. Send a questionnaire link in advance so the data is ready when they arrive.
