How to Use Patient Links

Last updated: 13 July 2026

Patient links are secure, shareable URLs that let patients book appointments, complete forms, or access specific functions without logging in.

How to Get There

Patient links are managed from the dedicated Patient Links page in the main navigation. They can also be generated contextually when sending booking invitations or forms.

  • Booking links -- let patients book an appointment directly
  • Form links -- send a questionnaire or intake form
  • Portal links -- give access to the patient portal
  1. Open the Patient Links page
  2. Create a new link
  3. Choose the link type and configure options
  4. Copy the generated link or send it directly to the patient

Patient links are unique and secure. They can be configured to expire after a set period or after first use, ensuring sensitive functions remain protected.

Links can be shared via:

  • SMS -- send directly to the patient's mobile
  • Email -- include in an email message
  • Copy -- copy the link to share through other channels

Tip: Use booking links to let patients self-schedule, reducing phone calls and admin time.

In Settings → Patient Links you can control how the links your practice sends behave:

  • Default expiry — choose how long new links stay valid. Links can also be set to never expire.
  • Verification for clinical links — optionally require patients to enter a one-time code before opening links that carry clinical content. If the code can't be delivered to one contact channel, Jump automatically offers the patient's other channel.

To withdraw a link that's already been sent, open it from the Patient Links list and choose Revoke. A revoked link shows the patient a clear message that it's no longer available — and you can un-revoke it if you change your mind.
