Alerts and the daily summary email

Last updated: 13 October 2026

Overview

Jump can tell you when something is assigned to you or your team. Alerts appear under the bell in the top bar, and you can choose to have them emailed to you as well. Every alert is off until you switch it on, and you choose your own: your settings don't change anyone else's.

Choosing your alerts

  1. Click your practice and name at the bottom of the left sidebar and choose Preferences, then the Notifications tab. (The bell's settings link takes you there too.)
  2. For each alert, under In Jump, switch on Me, My team, or both:
    • Task assigned: an open task is assigned to you, or to a team you're in.
    • Filing item assigned: a document or result to file is assigned to you, or to your team.
    • Inbox item assigned: an open inbox conversation is assigned to you, or to your team.
    • New booking for my clinician: a patient books, or a colleague books them, with the clinician you're linked to. Bookings you make yourself don't count. You only see this one if your account is linked to a clinician, and it has no My team option.
  3. To get an alert by email as well, switch on Me or My team under Email in the same row. Switching on an email also switches the alert on in Jump.

Alert emails never contain patient details. They say how many new items you have and link back to Jump. Alerts close together are sent as one email every few minutes. When an email is about a single item, the link opens that item once you've signed in.

The daily summary

Below the alerts, switch on Daily summary for an email at 8am on weekdays saying how much is waiting for you at each practice: tasks, inbox, filing and today's appointments. Nothing is sent at weekends, or on days when nothing is waiting.

Good to know

  • The bell keeps your alerts in Jump even when you've also had an email.
  • Turning off an alert in Jump also turns off its email.
