Send to NHS GP

Send to NHS GP lets you send documents, lab results, and consultation records directly to NHS GP practices via Docman Connect. Delivery status is tracked in real time.

How to Set Up

  1. Navigate to Apps > Send to NHS GP
  2. Toggle Enable Send to NHS GP to on
  3. Enter your organisation's ODS Code in the configuration card
  4. Click Save

The ODS code identifies your organisation as the sender and must be configured before you can send documents.

Organisation Directory (Optional)

To enable the "Send Elsewhere" feature (sending to practices other than the patient's registered GP):

  1. Scroll to the Organisation Directory card
  2. Click Sync now to download the Docman Connect directory
  3. The last synced timestamp is displayed after the initial sync

Sending Documents

Once configured, clinicians can send documents to NHS GPs from patient records. Documents are sent to the patient's registered GP practice using their ODS code.

Transfer History

The Transfer History tab shows all sent documents with:

  • Document title and source type (lab result, consultation, etc.)
  • Patient name
  • Destination ODS code and practice name
  • Status with colour-coded badges:
Status Meaning
Pending Queued for sending
Sending In transit
Sent Delivered to Docman Connect
Delivered Confirmed received by the GP practice
Rejected Rejected by the receiving practice (reason shown)
Failed Delivery failed (error details shown)
Resolved Previously rejected, now resolved

Use the Filter by status dropdown to narrow the list, and the Refresh Statuses button to check for updates.

Disabling

Toggle Enable Send to NHS GP to off. Existing transfer records are retained.

Tip: Ensure your ODS code is correct before sending documents. An incorrect code may cause deliveries to fail.
