AI Voice Consultation

AI Voice Consultation lets you speak or type free-text consultation notes and have them automatically structured into coded clinical data -- problems, observations, allergies, and consultation sections.

How to Use

  1. Start creating a new consultation from a patient record
  2. In the Clinical Record step, open the AI Consultation modal
  3. Enter your notes using one of two methods:
    • Type -- enter free-text notes in the text area
    • Voice -- click Transcribe, speak, then click Stop when finished. Your speech is transcribed into the text area automatically.
  4. Click Process with AI
  5. Review the structured output before saving to the consultation

What the AI Produces

The AI processes your notes and returns structured data including:

  • Problem -- a suggested problem title with SNOMED coding candidates
  • Observations -- clinical measurements extracted from your notes
  • Allergies -- any allergies mentioned
  • Consultation sections -- structured narrative for History, Examination, Comment, Family History, and Social History

Important

  • Do not include patient identifiers (name, address, NHS number) in your notes. The AI processes the clinical content only.
  • Always review the AI output before saving. The structured data is a suggestion -- you can edit, add, or remove any items before they are committed to the patient record.
  • Voice transcription requires microphone access in your browser.

Tip: You can combine both input methods -- start with voice transcription, then edit or add to the text before processing.
